You take the “Funchal - Campo da Barca” exit (12) from the Via Rapida, turn immediately left and then straight ahead through the tunnel. Proceed straight forward downhill as far as you can go towards the seafront – straight through the city centre past Anadia Shopping on your right with the farmers market opposite. When you arrive at the seafront there is a large new roundabout with traffic lights. You need to turn left here, along the seafront heading east, with the electricity building and a car park on your left hand side. At the bus station and cable car you can no longer go straight ahead and have to turn left, taking the right-hand lane in order to turn right into the cobbled street Rua D Carlos I, which itself quickly comes to an end after 100 metres in the pedestrianised restaurant zone. Here you have to take the very small left turn into Travessa dos Escaleres. Arsenios Restaurant is straight ahead and you need to pass this, keeping to the right, up Travessa das Torres. Proceed slowly from here -around three quarters of the way up this street the entrance to the car park is on the left-hand side, before Casa Portuguesa Restaurant.
